A Kirov resident lost 55,000 rubles while trying to sell sneakers.
According to a resident of Kirov, she posted an advertisement on social media for selling shoes for 2,000 rubles. On the same day, an unknown person wrote to her, claiming that they were ready to buy the item through a delivery service. To place the order, the interlocutor asked her to provide personal information.
After that, the Kirov resident received an email with a link supposedly for confirming the delivery. By clicking on it, the woman ended up on a website that looked similar to the delivery service's page. There, she was asked to enter her bank card details and confirm a deduction of 4,500 rubles "for verification."
As the police reported, later the victim was informed that the transaction allegedly did not go through, and to unblock her account, she needed to repeat the transfer. Then the scammers asked her to do this several more times.
Only after the total amount of transfers reached 55,000 rubles did the woman realize that she had fallen victim to a scam. It later turned out that the website was phishing, and the "buyer" stopped responding.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fraud. The police are identifying the perpetrators.
