Ministry of Internal Affairs: attackers on schools often grew up in well-off families
The Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bogdanov, stated that most teenagers who attacked educational institutions grew up in seemingly well-off families without financial problems. This was reported by "RBK".
According to the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, such children usually live in normal living conditions, their parents work, and are sometimes connected to education or law enforcement agencies. At the same time, students generally did not skip classes and were positively characterized by teachers.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that many of them were not registered with juvenile inspectors and did not come to the attention of the prevention system.
According to the agency's data, in 2025, there were 11 attacks in schools in nine regions of Russia. Another 21 similar crimes were prevented by law enforcement.
Earlier, a court in Kaliningrad sent a 16-year-old girl to a correctional colony for preparing an attack on a school. According to the investigation, she planned a mass murder at one of the educational institutions in the region.
