In Kirov, in the new square costing 35 million, the stairs and carousel broke down.
In Kirov, public activists demanded to check the gaming equipment installed under the federal program in the park on Rimma Yurovskaya Street. The reason was a May incident: a teenage girl broke her arm on the playground, which opened in 2025.
Experts from the People's Front inspected the area, improved at a cost of 35 million rubles, and listed the defects. According to their findings, the children's playground has broken ladders, a destroyed suspension bridge, and a carousel that does not spin. Many wooden elements lack protective treatment, which poses a risk of splinters. The posts of the canopy, under which swings used to hang, are shaky — they were dismantled due to poor welding.
The activists also noted that some parts are missing from the exercise equipment, the paving stones under the trash can have sunk, and the ground cover has not been properly leveled.
At the same time, there are no special plaques on the playground confirming that the gaming equipment meets the requirements of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union. There is also no information sign indicating the age category of children for whom the area is intended.
Residents of neighboring houses, according to the activists, have repeatedly contacted the city administration. They were told that the contractor was supposed to fix everything under warranty by May 15. However, at the time of the inspection, the work had not been completed.
The Department of Urban Improvement has postponed the deadline to June 1. If the contractor misses this deadline as well, the People's Front intends to go to court. Meanwhile, the activists have already sent a request to the prosecutor's office — asking to check whether the equipment purchased with federal funds complies with the law.

The playground on Rimma Yurovskaya Street lasted less than six months. Some of the equipment is already damaged, the wood is untreated, and the swings were removed due to a welding defect. In May, a schoolgirl was injured here — now the prosecutor's office has taken an interest in the situation.
