In the Kirov region, more than 270 hectares of forest have been returned to the state.
The Kirov Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office checked the legality of the alienation of land plots in the Malmyzhsky District. This concerns the territories of the Malmyzh Forestry, covered by forest. As reported by the prosecutor's office, these lands were previously used by a collective farm. After the bankruptcy of the agricultural enterprise in 1992, the plots were classified by the municipality as "reserve lands." However, according to the law, they should have been accounted for as forest fund lands. The environmental prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to change the land category and return the plots to federal ownership. The court granted the prosecutor's demands. Currently, the decision has been executed, and the land plots have been returned to the forest fund of the Russian Federation.
