Russia's budget received a record 52 billion rubles from the "wealth tax."
According to data from the Federal Tax Service, revenues from the so-called "wealth tax" have increased by more than a third compared to the same period last year, reports Izvestia. Experts link the growth in collections to several factors. One of the main reasons is the increase in salaries for Russians. According to tax consultant Alexey Krylov, by the end of 2025, nominal incomes have risen by 13.5%, which has led to a greater number of citizens falling under the higher tax rates. Additionally, the strengthening of control by tax authorities has had an impact. As specialists note, the government is actively combating "gray" schemes for salary payments. Additional budget revenues have also come from taxes on interest from bank deposits and citizens' investment income. Analyst Vladimir Chernov reported this. Traditionally, Moscow has provided the largest volume of collections. Residents of the capital contributed nearly 28.8 billion rubles to the federal budget. Experts explain this by the high concentration of large companies, banks, IT businesses, and financial organizations specifically in the capital.
