Gogol, kestrel, and buzzard: in the "Big Nest" - new charges

Recently, the Kirov center "Big Nest" received a common goldeneye, a merlin, a long-eared owl, a buzzard, and a black kite. All of them need treatment.

The most severe case is the buzzard. It suffered a traumatic brain injury, possibly after colliding with a vehicle. Currently, specialists are fighting to save its eyes and restore its mental status after the injury. According to them, there are improvements, but so far the bird reacts weakly to stimuli and cannot feed itself.

The duck, merlin, and kite will undergo additional tests. All three birds were found emaciated; they do not eat and cannot fly, although doctors did not find any fractures. In their opinion, these are clear signs of infections. So far, they have only managed to get the birds to start eating on their own: the kite — with tweezers, the goldeneye — from a bowl, the merlin eats completely independently.

As for the owls, they are recovering rapidly. "We hope to release them soon!" — added the "Nest."
