The authorities announced when a general decline in water levels in the region's rivers is expected.
During today's meeting, information about the flooding was shared. It has become known that by the end of this week (late April - early May), the water level in the Kirov region is expected to reach a plateau, after which a general decline will begin. The peak of the flooding (up to two meters per day on the Vyatka River) has passed. The end of the flood is expected in the first decade of May. So far, there is a rise in water levels on some rivers, from 1 centimeter per day in Vyatskie Polyany to 63 centimeters on the Bystritsa.
Currently, 10 sections of roads in six municipalities are still flooded — five in Kirov, one each in the Soviet, Kotel'nich, Afanas'yev, Vyatskopolyansky, and Zuevsky districts, 109 household plots in nine municipalities, and one bridge (in the Kiknur district). 20 bridges have been washed away in 14 municipalities. 136 settlements remain cut off from the world.
Authorities added that a slight increase in water levels is forecasted in the coming days. However, the situation, according to officials, is not critical.
