The FSB will check the books of children's writer Oster after Maria Butina's speech.
The Investigative Committee of Russia has begun an examination of the works of children's writer Grigory Oster following a statement by State Duma deputy Maria Butina. The issue was raised at a meeting of the relevant coordination council, where topics related to child safety and the prevention of juvenile crime were discussed.
As reported by "Kommersant," the basis for the investigation was Butina's report on the influence of children's literature on the behavior of minors. The document indicated that certain works were assessed as containing controversial messages that could negatively affect the formation of values in children. Among the mentioned works were Oster's books, including stories and fairy tales with elements of satire and humor.
The decision to conduct the investigation was made by the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin. The central office of the agency will study the content of the works. As part of the investigation, expert examinations are planned, including psychological and linguistic assessments aimed at evaluating the possible impact of the texts on the child audience.
