Motorists were told how to save their car after winter.

      As the technical specialist of ROSSKO, Konstantin Ershov, explained, spring is the best time to carry out a comprehensive cleaning of the car and protect it from corrosion. First and foremost, it involves a thorough wash not only of the body but also of the undercarriage, wheel arches, and hidden cavities where salt and reagents accumulate. These are often the main causes of rust.

      In addition to regular washing, specialists recommend performing so-called decontamination — removing bitumen, metal particles, and other ingrained contaminants. This helps restore the surface's smoothness and prepares it for the application of a protective coating.

      If there are small scratches on the body, light polishing can help. However, it should not be overdone — a thin layer of varnish is removed during processing.

      The final step should be protection: from simple wax to more durable coatings, such as synthetic compounds or ceramics. They create a hydrophobic effect and help the car stay clean longer.

      Special attention should be paid to rubber seals and plastic parts: they lose elasticity and can crack over the winter. Experts recommend using modern products with UV protection.

      Don't forget about the interior. During the cold season, dust, moisture, and residues of reagents accumulate inside. The minimum set includes cleaning, seat upholstery, and replacing the cabin filter.

      Some tasks can be done independently: washing the car, treating the body with a protective compound, and tidying up the interior. However, for complex procedures such as deep polishing or applying ceramics, it is better to consult specialists.

      Additionally, in spring, motorists are advised to check tire pressure and replace windshield wipers if necessary.
