Self-employed residents of Kirov have started to arrange for "sick leave" at their own expense.
According to the Kirov branch of the Social Fund of Russia, starting from January 1, 2026, self-employed individuals will have the opportunity to receive paid sick leave, including payments for childcare. Previously, such guarantees were not provided for this category of citizens.
As of today, 126 people have taken advantage of the program. To participate, one must independently pay insurance contributions. In 2026, two options are available: a monthly payment of 1,344 rubles (with an insurance amount of 35,000 rubles) or 1,920 rubles (with an amount of 50,000 rubles).
The right to payments arises after six months of regular contributions or by making the annual amount in one go. The amount of the benefit depends on the insurance experience: from 60% to 100% of the chosen insurance amount.
Participation can be arranged remotely through the State Services portal or the "My Tax" app, and personal visits to client services are also available.
