The legendary An-26 made a technical landing at Kirov's Pobedilovo airport.
On Thursday, April 9, a cargo plane An-26B with tail number RA-26101 landed on the runway of Pobedyilovo Airport. The crew was performing a technical ferry flight from Tyumen to Pskov and chose Kirov for refueling and a brief stop.
For the region, this aircraft is not just a plane with propellers. The An-26 had been part of the Kirov aviation enterprise's fleet since the 1980s until the early 2010s, transporting cargo and passengers on local routes. Today, its appearance on the tarmac was called living history, which once again touched the native land.
The airport's press service noted: the crew's decision to stop specifically in Pobedyilovo is direct evidence that Kirov's infrastructure is ready to accept various types of aircraft. Modern navigation equipment, clear operation of ground services, and experienced personnel make the airport a reliable link in federal logistics, they emphasized.
The plane has already left Kirov and continued its journey towards Pskov, leaving behind yet another confirmation: Pobedyilovo remains in the operational network of air transportation—even for aircraft with a history.

Kirov Airport Pobedilovo welcomed an aircraft for several hours, which local aviators remember from the Soviet era. The plane, once part of the Kirov aviation enterprise's fleet, returned to the familiar runway — albeit not as a regular carrier, but as an intermediate point in a long flight.
