Let us remind you that the tragedy occurred on the evening of December 21, 2025, on the road "Kiknur - Shapta." As established by the court, a 26-year-old local resident was driving a "Lada Granta" and was towing a 10-year-old boy on a tubing attached to the car. During a turn, the driver lost control: the "tubing" was swept away, and it collided with an oncoming vehicle. The child died at the scene.
A criminal case was initiated against the man under part 3 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — violation of traffic rules resulting in the accidental death of a person. The state prosecution was supported by the Kiknur district prosecutor's office.
The court found the driver guilty and sentenced him to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment, along with a 2-year ban on driving vehicles. However, considering the mitigating circumstances, the sentence was imposed conditionally.
The question of the legality of the verdict and its possible appeal will be resolved within the established timeframe.
