The overgrown lands near Kirov have "disappeared" from oversight.
According to the Rosselkhoznadzor management, specialists checked two agricultural plots covering 17 hectares near the village of Volkov in the spring of 2025. It was found that the land was completely overgrown with weeds and shrub vegetation. Warnings were issued to the owners, and they were required to tidy up the plots and return them to agricultural use. In the summer, the owners reported that they had conducted a cleanup. However, a follow-up inspection in November showed that the violations had not been fully rectified. After that, a new warning was sent to them in December. At the end of March 2026, the owners reported that the land plots had been reclassified as industrial land. The Rosselkhoznadzor explained that in this case, the agency is no longer authorized to monitor these plots, as oversight only applies to agricultural land.
