Sokolov spoke about the trade in mandates.
The acceptance of documents for participation in the primaries started on March 11 and will last until April 30. The preliminary voting itself will take place from May 25 to May 31. A total of 42 candidates have been registered: 40 for participation in the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov Region (including two from the regional territorial group: Senator of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Timchenko and the head of the regional headquarters of the Committee of Families of Warriors of the Fatherland Anastasia Bortsova) and 2 for the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Two candidates have declared their intention to participate in the elections to the State Duma — participant of the special military operation Ramil Khairulin and electronics engineer Alexey Golikov. The head of the region, Alexander Sokolov, emphasized that the procedure for preliminary voting will be conducted on a competitive basis: “Our principled position is that we do not trade mandates. No behind-the-scenes agreements or 'closed lists.' The only way is honest participation in the preliminary voting and the trust of voters.” He also noted that among the candidates, 55% are party members, 30% are non-partisan, and another 15% are supporters of "United Russia." Earlier, Newsler.ru reported on the nomination of special military operation participant Ramil Khairulin in single-member district No. 106, which may likely affect the configuration of the upcoming electoral campaign in the region.
