A Kirov resident with Bechterew's disease was granted a subsidized medication through the court.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Novovyatsky District of Kirov conducted an inspection following a complaint from a local resident who faced a refusal for subsidized medication. It was established that a 35-year-old man suffers from Bekhterev's disease — a chronic condition affecting the spine and joints. To maintain mobility and prevent disability, he needs to regularly take an expensive medication that is provided under the subsidy. However, since the summer of 2025, the issuance of the medication to the patient has been halted. Since the interruption in treatment posed serious health risks, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit against the regional Ministry of Health. The supervisory authority demanded that officials be obliged to provide the man with the necessary medication. The court recognized the prosecutor's demands as lawful and justified. The execution of the decision is under the control of the Novovyatsky District Prosecutor's Office.
