A new member of the Public Chamber is SVO participant Nikolai Shishkin.

      Today, at the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly, the deputies considered two candidates for the position of a member of the Public Chamber of the Kirov Region. These are the chairwoman of the regional trade union of utility workers, Yulia Kanash, and retired Ministry of Internal Affairs officer, lecturer of the "Knowledge" society, Nikolai Shishkin, who also participated in the special military operation.

      Only Shishkin attended the meeting. He stated that he intends to engage in "what is provided by law" in his new position. He named the main areas of activity — social sphere, education, patriotic education, adding that he has worked in each of these areas for a long time. "In this regard, I have a certain understanding of what I should do," he noted.

      During the voting, nine deputies voted for Kanash, seven against, and 14 abstained. For Shishkin, there were 37 votes in favor, no abstentions, and no one voted against. Thus, he became the new member of the Public Chamber of the Kirov Region.

      It should be noted that the deputies also initiated the procedure to fill another vacant position in the Public Chamber of the Kirov Region. The reason was the departure of Yulia Barshina (governor's list) from the chamber.
