The Kirov region has become a leader in kvass consumption.
The Kirov region ranked first in Russia for kvass consumption per capita. The consumption level was 1,022 liters per thousand people, an increase of 6% over the year. Following in the ranking are the Murmansk region (681 liters), Lipetsk region (510), Kemerovo region (499), and Altai Krai (491).
It is noteworthy that the highest prices for kvass are in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (169 rubles per liter). The lowest prices are in Chechnya (55), Altai Krai (70), Kostroma region (71), Buryatia (72), and Kurgan region (72.5).
In total, Russians consumed 43.6 million liters of kvass this winter. This is 7.5% more than the previous year, reports "Kommersant."
