Kirov doctors performed surgery on a young woman with severe obesity.

      As reported by the Ministry of Health, for several years Hospital No. 7 in Kirov has been treating people with severe obesity when the body mass index exceeds 35–40. Bariatric surgery is used for this. In total, doctors have performed about 130 such operations.

      Recently surgeons operated on a young woman. She had spent her life studying, earned four university degrees, an academic degree, and a good job, yet she could not establish a personal life because of excess weight. It strongly affected her self-esteem and relationships. After the operation the woman admitted that she had become more confident, stopped being embarrassed to leave the house, bought new dresses, and began to smile more. Now people shower her with compliments, and some do not even recognize her. The patient summed up that her life has become more fulfilling.

      It should be noted that such operations are performed minimally invasively, without large incisions. A hospital stay is required for only a few days. The most noticeable changes occur in the first year after the procedure. Altogether a person can lose up to 70% of excess weight.
