It has been revealed how much it costs to buy a driver's license.

      The former head of the interdistrict registration and examination department of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD) in Vyatskiye Polyany was found guilty of accepting bribes. In May and November 2024 he, through an intermediary, received from two candidates 20,000 and 30,000 rubles for enabling the unobstructed passing of the practical driving exam. The unlawful actions were stopped by officers of the regional FSB directorate. The court imposed the following sentence: 3 years and 6 months’ imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony, a fine of 300,000 rubles, revocation of the special rank of “police captain,” and a ban on holding positions associated with the exercise of state authority for 3.5 years. In addition, the illegally obtained money and mobile phones were confiscated. The defendant was taken into custody in the courtroom. The verdict has not yet taken legal effect — an appeal is possible.
