A 39-year-old resident of the regional center reported to Police Department No. 1 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kirov. The woman said that the previous day she had lost a wallet containing money in a grocery store. When she returned to the shop, her property was no longer there. A criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — theft committed causing substantial damage to a citizen. During operational-search activities, officers of the criminal investigation unit identified and detained a suspect. He was a delivery service courier born in 1974. The man had come to the store to pick up another order, found someone else’s wallet and decided to keep it. As police established, the courier took 10,000 rubles from the wallet and spent it on his own needs. The criminal investigation is currently ongoing.
