Residents of Svetlopolyansk will receive a billing adjustment due to the prolonged lack of heating.
According to the government, on the morning of December 24 the pipes at the boiler house in the settlement of Svetlopolyansk froze, causing a drop in network pressure and a sharp chill in the homes. An emergency crew immediately began work. After several hours water circulation in the pipes was restored and they began heating it. After a couple of days the water temperature reached normal levels. However heat returned to the homes very slowly. Experts identified sludge buildup in the systems inside the houses. They decided to flush them with ordinary water, but this did not help much. Then the authorities decided to raise the temperature at the boiler house.
On December 25 a pipe in the settlement burst, causing the homes to become cold again. Repair work was carried out, but it again took time to restore the temperature regime. After a couple of days heat was returned; however the boiler house is still operating at an elevated temperature. Local residents were promised a recalculation of their heating bills.
Governor Alexander Sokolov accused the management companies of failing to bring the communal systems into order. He ordered that "educational work" be carried out with them.
The head of the Verkhnekamsky District reported that the situation is under control, is being monitored every hour, and social facilities are operating normally today. As for the management companies, work with them has already been carried out.
