      Former deputy head of the regional health department for personnel, later deputy head of the Kirov Region Department of Health, Vyacheslav Vladimirovich Orlov, has died at the age of 80. He worked in the department for more than 20 years, focusing on the development and strengthening of the sector's human resources.

      Vyacheslav Orlov was born on April 25, 1946, in Kotel'nich. After graduating from Perm State Medical Institute, he began his career at the Khalturinskaya (now Orlovskaya) Central District Hospital, where he rose from anesthesiologist and head of the polyclinic to chief physician.

      In 1986 Orlov began working in the regional health department, where he first headed the personnel sector, and a year later became deputy head of the regional health department and head of the department of personnel and secondary educational institutions. Until 2006 he dealt with staffing medical institutions with specialists, especially in rural areas, as well as with improving the qualifications of healthcare workers. With his involvement a basic training school for the professional development of mid-level medical personnel was opened.

      The ministry notes that Vyacheslav Vladimirovich was distinguished by high professionalism, diligence, exacting standards toward himself and his colleagues, and an attentive attitude toward people. He was a capable organizer and was respected among the sector's staff.

      The farewell for Vyacheslav Orlov will take place on December 30 at 10 a.m. in the mourning hall at 1 Tikhaya Street.
