A convict from the Kirov pre-trial detention center was allowed to leave to look for work.
An inmate of the maintenance unit of Pre‑Trial Detention Center No. 1 in Kirov was granted the right to leave the facility to make preliminary arrangements regarding employment after his release. The outing was organized as part of penitentiary probation in accordance with the federal law "On Probation in the Russian Federation."
Permission to leave was issued by the head of the detention center. Before the outing the inmate received an instructional briefing, was issued an identification document of the prescribed form, and was informed of the consequences of evading the serving of his sentence and of the rules of conduct. During the outing the inmate was placed under supervision.
As part of the outing the man visited a shoe factory in Kirov. A company representative told him about working conditions, social guarantees and material and living support. The inmate was also shown the workstations to familiarize him with the working conditions.
Following the meeting the inmate expressed a desire to be employed at the company after his release. The employer issued him a letter of guarantee and offered him the position of molder of parts and products, 4th grade.
The press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov Region noted that the employment of convicts after their release contributes to their resocialization and return to life in society.
