Around 500 young athletes representing sports schools from nine regions of the country came to Kirovo-Chepetsk. Over three days they competed in events over 50, 100, 200 and 400 meters. In addition to individual events, the swimmers competed in team relays.

— "Uralchem traditionally supports these swimming competitions, which annually attract many young athletes from various cities across the country. For them, victory at this tournament can be a starting point on the road to achieving high results in professional sports."
A total of 108 sets of medals were contested, and 11 records were set. Athletes from Kirovo-Chepetsk won 37 gold, 30 silver and 28 bronze medals. Also, as is tradition, cups were awarded for victories in Yana Shamarova's favorite events — the 100, 200 and 400-meter individual medley.
