According to a forecast by the Kirov Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, residents of Kirov and the surrounding region can expect frosty, snowy weather with icy conditions on the roads at the end of the week.
On Thursday, December 25, Kirov is expected to have cloudy weather with some clear spells. No significant precipitation is forecast at night, but the air temperature will drop to −23 to −25°C. During the day there will be light snow, and temperatures will rise to −10 to −12°C. Wind at night will be northwesterly, shifting to southwesterly, 3–8 m/s; during the day it will be southwesterly, 5–10 m/s. Icy conditions on the roads will persist.
On Friday, December 26, snow is expected at night and during the day. Nighttime temperatures will be −10 to −12°C, daytime −5 to −7°C. Winds will be southwest and south, 5–10 m/s. Icy conditions will also persist.
On Saturday, December 27, light snow is possible at night, with no significant precipitation expected during the day. Night temperatures will be −11 to −13°C, daytime −10 to −12°C. Winds will be southeasterly, 4–10 m/s. Roads will remain slippery.
Across the Kirov region, the night of December 25 is forecast to bring the coldest temperatures: in the northeastern part of the region temperatures may fall to −32°C, and in the southwestern part to −27°C. In the following days the frosts will ease, but snow and icy conditions will remain across the entire region.
