More than 64,000 Christmas trees were taken out of Kirov Oblast.
Since the beginning of 2025, more than 64,000 New Year trees — spruces, firs and pines — have been transported from the Kirov region to other regions of Russia. This is 1.4 times more than during the same period last year, the press service of the regional office of Rosselkhoznadzor reported.
Kirov’s “forest beauties” were sent to the Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Sverdlovsk, Tambov, Bryansk, Volgograd, Leningrad, Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod oblasts, as well as to Crimea, North Ossetia, Mari El, Tatarstan and Chuvashia.
On December 19, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists supervised the shipment of a thousand spruces to Moscow and issued a quarantine certificate for the consignment. Before shipment all trees must undergo a phytosanitary inspection. The Kirov region is considered a quarantine zone for forest pests, so conifers may be sent to other regions only with documents confirming their safety.
