Amendments banning the sale of vapes in Russia have been submitted to the State Duma.
Recently, State Duma deputies submitted to the lower house of parliament amendments that would completely ban the sale of vapes and nicotine-containing liquids in Russia. RIA Novosti reports.
The authors of the amendments were State Duma Deputy Speaker Vladislav Davankov; the head of the Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov; the head of the Committee for the Development of Civil Society and for Matters of Public and Religious Associations, Yana Lantratova; the chair of the Committee on Family Protection and on Issues of Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, Nina Ostanina; as well as deputies Dmitry Svishchev and Dmitry Gusev. They proposed banning retail and wholesale trade in nicotine-containing liquids, nicotine, nicotine solutions, and nicotine-free liquids that are also used in vapes.
The amendments are to be introduced into the law "On State Regulation of the Production and Circulation of Tobacco Products, Tobacco Goods, Nicotine-Containing Products and Raw Materials for Their Production" and the federal law "On the General Principles of Organizing Public Authority in the Subjects of the Russian Federation."
Recall that earlier, at the initiative of Kirov Governor Alexander Sokolov, deputies of the regional legislative assembly submitted a similar proposal to the State Duma. However, nothing has been heard of it at the federal level so far.
