The results of environmental education and outreach work were discussed at the Public Chamber of the Kirov Region.
Deputy head of the Eco-center Aleksandra Sherstkova informed those present about the events held over the first ten months of 2025. A total of 172 events of various kinds were organized, with more than 2,500 people participating. The events covered a wide range of formats: interactive sessions, excursions, waste-separation campaigns and educational lectures.
Special attention was paid to working with young people, who have shown great interest in environmental issues. Young activists actively take part in clean-up campaigns and educational projects, involving their families and acquaintances. The eco-center's management intends to support the initiatives of young people by improving waste management infrastructure.
One promising project is the transformation of the existing Ecopoint into a full-fledged center of environmental culture — EcoHouse, where residents will be able not only to sort their waste but also to gain useful knowledge about caring for nature.
Meeting participants expressed the importance of scaling up outreach activities to the municipal districts of the region. This will help boost efforts within the framework of the national project "Environmental Well-being," aimed at fostering a conscious approach to environmental issues and resource conservation.
