According to a representative of the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), seasonal risks are expected for 20 floating, pontoon and wooden bridges in the Kirov region. As the rivers begin to freeze over, there is a danger of the bridges being damaged or collapsing. The speaker requested that municipalities, together with maintenance organizations, be instructed either to reinforce the bridges or to disassemble and remove them, and also to pay attention to ensuring the population’s essential needs.
