Most often drivers ignored the traffic light, drove into the oncoming lane in the crossing area, or overtook other vehicles — violations that can lead to the most serious consequences. To reduce accidents, Kirov railway workers and traffic police officers are actively carrying out preventive work. In the first ten months of 2025 they organized more than 500 patrols and delivered over a thousand safety lectures at enterprises in the region. In total, almost 41,000 motorists received explanatory briefings. Railway workers remind motorists that even a single violation at a crossing can cost a life.

      On the morning of November 19, the October District Court in Kirov began reading the sentence for lawyer Anton Dolgikh, who is accused of abuse of office, instigation, and petty bribery.

      There were many relatives in the courtroom: the defendant’s wife, children, and mother. Before the hearing began the room was almost oppressively silent, our correspondent in the courtroom reports.

      After that the judge entered the courtroom and the sentence reading began.

      Recall that during the closing arguments on November 13 the state prosecutor clarified his position: he proposed to exclude the aggravated offense under Article 285, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Instead, the charges were left under Article 285, Part 1 in conjunction with Article 33, Parts 4 and 5 — instigation and aiding and abetting.

      The prosecutor requested for Anton Dolgikh:

      1 year and 9 months in a colony-settlement for the principal offense

      a fine of 80,000 rubles under Article 291.2, Part 1 (petty bribery)

      to be exempted from punishment under this article due to the statute of limitations having expired

      to keep the defendant in the pretrial detention center until the sentence becomes final, counting one day in detention as two days in the colony-settlement.
