A man from Kirov stole a bicycle from the entrance of an apartment building.

      Recently a concerned resident of Kirov contacted the UMVD of Russia for the city of Kirov. On the morning of November 14 the victim discovered that a bicycle worth 25,000 rubles was missing. It had disappeared from the landing of the 10th floor.

      Using surveillance cameras, the police identified the suspect. He turned out to be a resident of the Kumen district, born in 1987, who had previously been criminally prosecuted for theft. According to the suspect, he had noticed the bicycle when he came to this building to visit an acquaintance. Later the man returned and stole the bicycle. He left the two-wheeled vehicle in his friend’s apartment, where it was found by police officers.

      The stolen bicycle was returned to the victim. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

      Officers of the UMVD of Russia for the Kirov Region warn citizens: do not leave your property unattended. Bicycles are safest when kept in an apartment, a garage, or in locked rooms secured with reliable locks and not freely accessible to outsiders.
