Tomato prices have skyrocketed.

      According to the agency, prices for goods and services in Kirov Oblast rose by an average of 0.8%, and since the beginning of the year — by 6.2%. Food prices increased by an average of 1.3% over the month. Kirovstat noted that significant price changes were observed for fruit and vegetable products. Tomatoes rose the most in October: up 33.4%. Lemons became 27% more expensive, and fresh sweet peppers by 23.3%.

      Garlic, onions and carrots became cheaper. The latter — by 5.2%.

      In the dairy products group, condensed milk rose in price by 4.3%. Whole drinking milk (2.5–3.2% fat) became more expensive by 3.2%, fermented milk products rose by 2.6%, and butter by 2.3%.

      Among the monitored types of meat and fish products, prices for live and chilled fish increased by 3.2%. Chicken legs and prepared poultry products became more expensive by 2.5%.

      Prices rose for chicken eggs (by 6.5%), canned vegetables for baby food (by 4%), and meals in canteens, cafes and snack bars (by 3%). Canned tomatoes became cheaper by 5.2%.

      The increase in prices for non-food goods over the month averaged 1%. The cost of motor fuel rose by an average of 3.8%. AI-92 gasoline increased by 4.4% over the month, AI-95 by 3.3%. Diesel fuel became more expensive by 2.4%, AI-98 and higher gasoline by 1.9%, and gaseous motor fuel by 1.1%.
