Kirov will get 33 more free Wi-Fi hotspots.
A map of free internet access zones has been created in the region to provide residents with connectivity, including during periods of possible mobile internet restrictions due to threats from unmanned aerial vehicles. The map is available at this link.
It currently shows 901 Wi‑Fi points, of which 350 are in the city of Kirov and 551 are in the region’s districts.
In addition, mobile internet is provided by 19 in‑building base stations.
Access points can be found not only via the official website but also through popular services — 2GIS and Yandex.Maps.
They also recalled that at the federal level a list of websites and services has been approved that will remain accessible regardless of possible mobile network restrictions. It includes, in particular: the national messenger MAX; the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki; Mail.ru; the Gosuslugi and Yandex services; the marketplaces Ozon and Wildberries; Avito; Zen; Rutube; the website of the Mir payment system; government and presidential administration resources; the DEG platform; and telecom operators’ websites.
It is noted that the development of communications infrastructure in the region is part of the objectives of the national project “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State.”
