Former deputy chairman of the regional parliament Vladimir Agalakov has died.
Vladimir Ivanovich Agalakov has died in Kirov. He was elected three times as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov Region from a single-mandate constituency and for a long time represented the interests of voters in the regional parliament, actively participating in lawmaking activities, the regional Legislative Assembly reported.
With his involvement, new social support measures were introduced in the region, and the most important basic laws in the fields of education, occupational safety, social services and healthcare were adopted. For his contribution to the development of regional legislation, Vladimir Ivanovich was awarded the highest honor of the regional parliament — the badge of the Legislative Assembly.
In addition to his political activities, Agalakov had extensive experience in medicine. He worked his way up from a regular specialist to chief physician of the Kirov Regional Clinical Hospital, which he led for more than 16 years. In 1996 he was awarded the title “Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation.”
A civil memorial service for Vladimir Ivanovich Agalakov will be held on Wednesday, November 19, at 9:00 at the A.I. Herzen Regional Scientific Library (entrance from Herzen Street).
