500 light installations will adorn Kirov for the New Year.

New Year decorations of streets and public spaces have begun in Kirov. In the square at the intersection of Dzerzhinsky Street and Oktyabrsky Avenue, workers have finished installing light structures in the shape of snowflakes, the city administration’s press service said.

Festive illumination is also being installed in Alexander Garden, where light elements in the shape of feathers have appeared along the central alley. Next week, work will continue in the Raduzhny neighborhood on Industrialnaya Street and along the alley on Lomonosov Street.

Deputy Director of the Beautification Directorate Andrey Domrachev said all work should be completed by December 6. One of the longest sections will be the pedestrian part of Oktyabrsky Avenue, where, in addition to light consoles, an illuminated fringe will be used.

Around 500 light structures of various shapes will be installed across the city: snowflakes, feathers, comets, firebirds, Dymkovo patterns, figures of noblewomen and even the flag of Russia. The main focus is on the main streets, tourist routes and pedestrian zones to create a truly festive atmosphere.
