A video of money hidden in books has surfaced in the Mamedov case.
At the hearing a witness spoke — an employee of LLC “RV” (Rosvideo), a subcontractor with whom the Center had contracted to produce a video for the “Russia” exhibition. In fact, the woman told the court nothing new.
After that the prosecutor proceeded to read out the testimony of other witnesses. Among them was Denis Devyatykh, who in 2023 carried out repair work in Apollo Park. His testimony proved to be much more interesting.
According to Devyatykh, he was the one who received from producer Andrey Dmitriev (recognized as a victim in the case) a package that was to be delivered to Ruslan Mamedov. Dmitriev insisted that the package contained books intended for the park’s improvement. However, as Devyatykh later said, on the way to Mamedov’s office one of the books opened slightly and 5,000‑ruble banknotes were visible.
“I thought he had used me behind my back. It really upset me,” the prosecutor quoted Devyatykh’s testimony.
To protect himself, the man filmed the contents of the book. He estimated that there were about 300–500 thousand rubles in the package. Later, according to the witness, Mamedov sent him a voice message thanking him for delivering the package and mentioning a “50‑50” arrangement, which Devyatykh refused. After that, fearing he might be considered an accomplice, he completely avoided contact with the former head of the Center.
Recall that earlier the court heard testimony from Andrey Dmitriev, who said he handed over 300 thousand rubles for the improvement of Apollo Park. According to him, the funds were unrelated to the Center’s contracts, and later Mamedov returned the money to him and paid for a lawyer.
In addition, we wrote that many people who found the situation with the money in the books amusing have voiced their thoughts on the matter. Read more here.
