Reindeer from Belgorod that were relocated to Kirov Oblast have given birth.

There’s a new addition in the Lebyazhsky Okrug of Kirov Oblast: the deer that were brought from Belgorod Oblast this spring have had offspring. The happy news was shared by a deputy of the regional Legislative Assembly and chairman of the Vyatka Heritage Charitable Foundation, Oleg Berezin.

According to him, the young were born this summer. All this time specialists tried not to disturb the animals so the fawns could grow quietly and get used to their new surroundings. Now, with the young generation strengthened, foundation staff were able for the first time to approach more closely and capture them on video.

For reference, the deer were brought to Kirov Oblast in March 2025 as part of an environmental project supported by the Vyatka Heritage Foundation. The animals were placed in a specially equipped enclosure on the territory of the Lebyazhsky Okrug. Semi-free conditions of keeping allow them to retain their natural behaviors and feel as comfortable as possible.
