A Court Workers' Day has been established in Russia.

The Russian government issued a decree introducing a new professional holiday — Court Employee Day. The corresponding document was signed on October 24.

The date was not chosen at random. The holiday is timed to coincide with a historical event — the issuance of Emperor Peter I's decree "On the Form of the Court", published in 1723. This document for the first time established the procedure for hearing civil and criminal cases with the participation of both parties and defined the court's right to apply coercive measures, including arrest.

The initiative to establish the new date came from the Chairman of the Supreme Court, Igor Krasnov. It received the support of the President of Russia.
