City Hall selected concepts for the improvement of the Zasor Ravine.

According to the Kirov city administration, the winners of the competition for the landscaping of the Zasora ravine were Yana Putienko (1st place), Anastasia Cheshuina (2nd place) and Dmitry Nifontov (3rd place).

When evaluating the projects submitted to the competition, members of the expert commission took into account a number of criteria, including originality, the level of urban planning detail, the adaptability of design solutions to different seasons, and others.

Yana Putienko’s entry, which scored the highest number of points, proposes the creation of a network of gardens connected by a single pedestrian boulevard: the Botanical, the 60th Anniversary of the USSR Garden, “Solovyiny,” Rudobelsky, “Festival” (the author planned an all-season tubing area there, a children’s playground and a festival square) and “Trudovye Rezervy,” where a sports cluster will be located.

The layout proposed by the winner envisions creating a 2.5 km route along the ravines. Along the route there will be entrance groups to the gardens from Albert Likhanov Street, areas on the ravine floor for active recreation and events, as well as viewing platforms that will allow visitors to enjoy the views and spend time outdoors.

The project author proposed a number of engineering solutions for creating a drainage system and retaining walls in the ravines. To improve transport accessibility, the reconstruction of Albert Likhanov Street is planned, with the creation of a boulevard and a pedestrian zone adjacent to the ravine.

The city administration noted that the competition winners will be able to participate in the further development of the concept for the improvement of the Zasora ravine.
