Today members of the Legislative Assembly's committee considered a bill introducing amendments to the Charter of the Kirov Region. It is proposed to adopt it in two readings.
The proposal is to establish a new scheme of operation for the Legislative Assembly in the region. The old one was adopted in February 2016 and has a term of 10 years. The new one will also be in effect for 10 years.
Among the main changes is an increase in the number of deputies to 45. It is proposed that 30 be elected from single-member districts and 15 from party lists. By way of reminder, the Legislative Assembly currently has 40 deputies, of whom 27 are from districts and 13 from lists.
The new scheme will be applied when forming the eighth and subsequent convocations. The final decision will be made at the Assembly's plenary session on Thursday.
