According to Avtostat head Sergey Tselikov, the sales growth is partly linked to a surge of interest around a possible increase in the recycling fee. Although week-on-week sales fell by 5.8%, the overall trend remains positive, and analysts expect growth may persist until the end of the year.
Positive momentum was also recorded in the heavy truck market (HCV from 16 t) — 1,076 vehicles were sold, 5.1% more than a week earlier.
At the same time, the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment is experiencing a decline: sales fell 16% compared with the previous week and 27% compared with October 2024. The drop continues in the medium-duty truck category (MCV, 3.5–16 t), where 236 units were sold, 8% fewer than a week earlier and 41% lower than a year ago.
For World Statistics Day, Rosstat drew a portrait of the "average Russian".
