The geomagnetic situation has stabilized: a prolonged lull lies ahead.

According to scientists, the risk of large solar flares affecting Earth is now zero — the calm situation has persisted for several days. Pressure from the coronal flow has also virtually disappeared. The magnetosphere charts (see below) show that the indices are staying in the "green zone," corresponding to quiet conditions.

"Moderately elevated solar wind speeds persist for now, but they are insufficient to drive the magnetosphere out of equilibrium. Only weak residual disturbances are possible today, but they will not change the overall picture," the laboratory reported.

A prolonged lull is expected over the next 5–7 days. Longer-term forecasts remain uncertain for now: solar activity in recent months has been inconsistent. Since the beginning of the summer not a single X-class flare has been recorded, which markedly contrasts with last year, when events nearly reached the X10 level.

According to experts, the current bursts are likely local and do not affect the overall cycle of solar activity.

The geomagnetic situation has stabilized: a prolonged lull lies ahead.

After a week of strong flares and geomagnetic storms caused by the effects of a coronal hole, the geomagnetic situation on Earth has returned to normal. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
