In Kirov, a teenage terrorist was sentenced to six years in a penal colony.
In August last year a minor, acting as part of an organized group and at the direction of a person representing the interests of Ukraine, set fire to the distribution panel of a transformer at Pozdino railway station. As a result, there was a failure in the station’s electrical equipment.
The evidence collected by the Central MSUT of the Investigative Committee of Russia was recognized by the court as sufficient to convict the adolescent. He was found guilty of the crime provided for in paragraph “a” of part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the commission of a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior agreement).
The court sentenced the adolescent to six years’ imprisonment to be served in a juvenile correctional colony. The criminal case against the other participants has been separated into a separate proceeding. The investigation into it is ongoing.
The Investigative Committee warns citizens that the intelligence services of other countries actively recruit via social networks and popular messaging apps to involve people in illegal activities. Minors are particularly often targeted. The Investigative Committee of Russia reminds that terrorist actions entail criminal liability up to life imprisonment.
