
A resident of Orichi was beaten to death while picking cranberries.
As reported by the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Kirov Region, on the morning of October 7 a taxi driver, while driving along the Orichi–Zengino road, noticed a man lying on the roadside. He was still showing signs of life. The injured man was taken to hospital, but he died the next day despite the doctors' efforts. Traces of beatings sustained while alive were found on the deceased's body.
Police officers identified the deceased as a 48-year-old resident of Orichevsky District. According to the investigation, the man, together with another local resident born in 1991, was picking cranberries for pay. A conflict occurred between them in the forest, during which the victim suffered injuries that led to his death.
The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under Article 111, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death). The suspect has been detained and remanded in custody.
