The first snow fell in Kirov Oblast.
A white blanket was noticed by residents of the village of Svyatitsa in the Falyonsky District — it was from there that rescuers posted a video captioned "Happy first snow!". In addition, photographs of the first snow appeared on the Telegram channel of amateur meteorologists: they were shared by residents of Uney, Omutninsk, Afanasyevo and the Nagorsky District.
The agency reminded that snowfall makes roads slippery and reduces visibility, so drivers should be especially careful.
"Keep to the speed limit and maintain distance. If necessary, call 112," noted the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Kirov Region.
Recall that last year meteorologists forecast the first snow in the region for October 9 — back then in Kirov the temperature was around +3°C, and during the day there was snow mixed with rain and winds reached up to 11 m/s. After that the weather stabilized and remained between −5°C and +5°C.
For now forecasts say the current snow is temporary, but judging by the calendar and the cold mornings, the wait for a real winter will not be long.
