More than 134,000 residents of Kirov traveled on Lastochka trains.
From January to September 2025, Lastochka high-speed trains operating between Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod carried 134,400 passengers, the press service of the Gorky Railway reported.
In total, more than 3 million people were transported on Lastochka trains on the Gorky Railway during this period. The largest passenger flow was on the Nizhny Novgorod–Moscow route, where more than 2.8 million people traveled. On the Nizhny Novgorod–Ivanovo route, 74,300 passengers were transported.
Lastochka trains operate as modern electric multiple units with five- and ten-car sets. The company OJSC Russian Railways notes that when demand rises the number of cars per train is increased.
