The FAS found risks in the new rules of Wildberries and Ozon.
According to the agency, Ozon has been receiving many complaints from entrepreneurs about new return-processing rules: orders canceled without complaints about quality are automatically sent to the marketplace’s warehouses for resale. As a result, sellers cannot freely dispose of their goods and also encounter problems when removing them, sometimes paying for storage for an indefinite period.
Wildberries, in turn, applies an “inventory remainder index,” which forces entrepreneurs either to pay higher storage fees for their products or to agree to discounts without consent. Sellers also complained about new services that cannot be declined until the end of the specified period.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) stressed that the new mechanisms should be transparent and take into account the capabilities of small and medium-sized businesses. If the marketplaces refuse to make adjustments, the agency threatened to take antitrust measures.
