From September to December 2023 the man deliberately did not pay child support, although he was required to do so by a court decision. The Kirov resident's debt to his underage son exceeded 50,000 rubles. Earlier the man had already been held administratively liable for a similar violation, the Kirov Region Prosecutor's Office reports. When imposing the sentence, the court took into account the convict's prior convictions for illegal drug trafficking and drunk driving. As a result, the unserved portion of the previous sentence was partially merged with the main sentence. Consequently, the man received 7 months' imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony and a driving ban for 5 months and 10 days. After the sentence was announced, the Kirov resident was taken into custody in the courtroom. He tried to appeal the decision, but the Kirov Regional Court left the sentence unchanged.
