
In a bar in Kirov, a man shot his opponent in the face.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kirov Region, a conflict between a 32-year-old man and a stranger occurred in a nightclub on Lomonosov Street. During the quarrel the assailant produced an object resembling a pistol and shot the opponent in the face. On the street the attacker beat the victim and fled.
The victim was hospitalized; the inflicted bodily harm has been classified as grievous. Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm").
During operational activities, the police identified the suspected assailant. He turned out to be a 30-year-old Kirov resident with a prior conviction. An item structurally similar to a pneumatic pistol was seized from him and sent for examination.
The man was detained pursuant to Article 91 of the Russian Criminal Procedure Code. The court will decide on a pretrial measure in the near future. The investigation is ongoing.
