In Kirov, a 21-year-old "employer" who was robbing people through fake job postings was detained.

      The suspect turned out to be a 21-year-old resident of the regional center, involved in at least ten thefts with total damage of about 250,000 rubles.

      According to the UMVD, the young man posted online ads for "remote work" and offered respondents to install an app supposedly required for the job. In fact, it turned out to be malware that allowed the perpetrator to access victims' SMS messages and log into their personal accounts on Gosuslugi.

      Using passport details, the man from Kirov took out microloans from microfinance organizations (MFOs) in the victims' names and transferred the money to himself. For example, he stole 17,000 rubles from a resident of Udmurtia by taking out two loans in her name.

      At present, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 159 (fraud) and Article 272 (unauthorized access to computer information) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and an investigation is underway. Investigators are checking his involvement in other similar crimes.
